Fiendfan 120 carbon edf was designed for economical operation and perfect motor cooling.
Thurst with required motor Het Typhoon 800-68/685 kv and 12 cell battery is over 9,45 kg / 6700 W .
Of course other motors are supported. Adding of the longitudal ribs to the smaller diameters will provide even better cooling.
You can achieve better results (consumption, performance, temperature) with higher voltage and with motor having lower kv.
Weight of the EDF is 180 grams - with using a 450 g motor, 2.2 kg batteries and regulator (aprox. 3 kg in total) still provides a big room to built a model with higher performance than weight.
Speed of the air blowing from the fan is over 500 Km/h (calculated with a pitch of the rotor).
In tearing tests blades resisted to 120 kg of pull. Force that motor can resist from a side is 12 kg (without any damage). **
Even when rapid change of the direction, not bigger force than 6 kg will occure.
